“Change your Body Not the World” was inspired by the way Women are viewed in society often as objects. Their value and worth as a member in society is determined by the way in which their body looks. This is because a pressure to succumb to whatever expectation society deems acceptable is instilled the moment a girl starts becoming a woman. Instead of creating an environment where Women’s minds hold more importance than their looks, they are taught from an early age that they must conform to the tight knit standards of what is considered beautiful in order to be respected and avoid the hate and judgement that is somehow always exhibited but never invited. Smith represents a natural body showing off curves and rolls, although it may not be “perfect”, it is beautiful. Smith sparks a want for change and questions what would happen if the pressure to conform was lifted? What would happen if women were taught to change the world, instead of their one and only vessel that explores it?

Nature has dealt with human selfishness since its existence. Society continuously takes as we grow greedy, we take until there is no longer anything left, this is natures way of striking back and telling humans to fuck off. Humans are aware of Earths impermanence, and yet there still seems to be no change, this is frustrating in so many ways and it must be frustrating to our friends in nature as well. I attempt to use a different approach to inspire change, that being humor. Through use of personification in a humorous way, I express how the trees must be feeling.
